Orientation 30 March 2012: Games Day! ;)

The Biosciences Club welcomed the new juniors of 2012! We prepared for the games day for the new students of March 2012 and it was a short 2-hour games session but that made it all the more exciting as we had to come up with up to four exciting mini games.

After the introduction, we promptly led them to the games station and started off almost immediately after dividing the students to groups. The fun then begins!

We started off with the ‘Toilet Paper Game’ where students had to pass the toilet paper within their group seated in a circle and whenever the song stopped the person holding the toilet paper had to take as much as they wanted. Of course, it was a trick and quite a few students fell for it as they took up to 20 pieces! For each piece that they took, they had to tell us a sentence about themselves!

*Toilet paper?! Is this clean?!*

Subsequently, we had another game called the ‘Bingo Game’ where students were each given a sheet of paper containing description of a person, such as ‘I love purple’ or ‘I’m from Penang’. In a very short time, all of us had to scramble around asking for signatures from people who fit the criteria! The winner of the game was Sylvi Mareelina Wijaya!

After that game, we shifted to the basketball court to play the ‘Bomb Game’ and the ‘Dare Game’. The ‘Bomb Game’ was mainly to see how cooperated we are with our teammates, as we shout the designated cheer and ‘attack’ other groups! There were the London group, the Victor group, the Taylor’s group, the Shanine group, and the Champion group. The winners – the Shanine group and the Taylor’s group - won due to their strategic plan of attacking only one team and thus getting the privilege of planning out the punishment for the rest of the teams!

*Bomb Shanine, bomb Shanine, bomb VICTOR!*

Later on, for the last game - the Dare Game - everyone was seated in a circle and our representative Afif Ilmam started off the game by giving a dare one of the students in the circle. The game was played such that the person who performed the dare was then given the chance to pick another student and to dare him or her.

It was a tremendous display of showmanship and laughter even as some students sang their hearts out, cat walked with pride, pretended to pole dance and even did a (pretty bad!) ballroom dance in the middle of the circle! *seriously where do they get all that humour and THICK SKIN!* xD

At the end of the games session, winners were chosen based on their outstanding showmanship and exemplary participation. The winners include Faiz bin Norizan, Vinod Krishnan, Muhaimin Zulkarnain, Shanine Chan Hao Shan, Lai Kai Yen, and GanChuan Yuan. It was a day full of laughter, memories and teamwork that further strengthened our friendships that we will surely remember in the days to come.
